The Eyalet of Anatolia was one of the two core provinces (Rumelia
being the other) in the early years of the Ottoman Empire
. It was established in 1393. Consisting of western Anatolia, its capital was Kütahya
. Its reported area in the 19th century was 65804 square miles (170,431.6 km²).
After the abolition of the Janissary corps in 1826 which followed the Auspicious Incident
, the eyalet was divided into 4: the eyalets of Aydin, Hüdevandigar, Ankara and Kastamonu.
