Cotton, cereals, corn as well as almonds, pears and peaches are grown in Ampelonas. Moreover there are cultivations of fruits and vegetables like cabbages, peppers, tomatoes, melons, watermelons etc.
In Ampelonas there is also a famous "Wine Festival", held once a year since 1959.
