Alexander Archipelago National Forest was established by the U.S. Forest Service in Alaska
on 20 August 1902 by presidential order (vol. 32, stat. 2025) comprising 4506240 acres (18,236.1 km²). On 1 July 1908 the entire forest was combined with Tongass National Forest
(executive order 908) and the name was discontinued.
