Roach has been a sports announcer since 1990. While working for a radio station in Colorado Springs, he told a Sky Sox official that if they ever needed a public address announcer, he would do so. When the Sky Sox took him up on the offer, he took over the job and became one of the best known public-address announcers in the country. From 1993 to 2006, and briefly in 2008, he served as the announcer for the Colorado Rockies
