It is not clear if the same airline or another of the same name was the operator of the An-26 that crashed with high fatality number in the DRC in 2007, but most likely it was operated by the company's Congolese subsidiary, because soon after the incident their operations shut down. Africa One operated in years 2002-2004 and Africa One Congo operated in years 2002-2007.

The airline is on the List of air carriers banned in the European Union.
