in his fourth and final OHL season.
Undrafted by an NHL club, the Phoenix Coyotes
signed Perry to an American Hockey League
(AHL) contract with the San Antonio Rampage
on August 6, 2008. However, after beginning the season in San Antonio, he was assigned to the Arizona Sundogs
of the CHL
. He scored 53 points in 40 games with the Sundogs in his first professional season, third among CHL rookies, and was nominated for league rookie of the year. Fellow nominees include Darryl Smith
