In 1950 he published: Flores e espinhos" (Flowers and Thorns) and "Uanga ( Magic ) and in 1952 Ecos da minha terra (Echoes of my land).
He was awarded the Medal Gonçalves Dias for the National Library of Rio De Janeiro in 1968.
He died in Lisbon
