History

The Windsor-Zillmere club formed from the merger of neighbouring Windsor and Zillmere Football Clubs in 1962.

Sandgate

 merged with the club to form North Brisbane in 1991.

The Northern Eagles were formed in 1997, and were renamed Zillmere Eagles in 2005.

In recent years, the club has produced AFL player Danny Dickfos. A number of other players have been drafted from the Zillmere Eagles after playing a handful of games but they have been produced by junior clubs surrounding Zillmere. Players include Jamie Charman

In October 2008, AFLQ transferred the licence from Zillmere Eagles to neighbouring Aspley AFC as part of an independent review which looked into the best long term option for Australian football in North Brisbane. The Zillmere Eagles continues in spirit through the junior Club.
