in 1983. He played the 1983–1984 NASL indoor season with the Roughnecks but was released in March 1984. He promptly signed with the Tacoma Stars for the last few months of the 1983–1984 Major Indoor Soccer League season. In the summer of 1984, he finished his career with the Tulsa Tornados

He played for the Brazilian national team from 1960 to 1965. On 25 July 2009 Zequinha died at the age of 74, only 25 years after hanging up his boots.
