. The municipality is situated approximately 36 kilometres from Ronda and 63 from the city of Málaga. It has a population of approximately 3300 residents. The natives are called Yunqueranos.
Yunquera is a traditional Spanish town with beautiful scenery and a relaxed atmosphere. While it is becoming more and more of a tourist spot, this quiet little town remains shrouded in history and totally self reliant.
