York Regional Council is the political body for the Regional Municipality of York in Ontario

), and an additional eleven councillors from the more populous municipalities—four from Markham, three from Vaughan, two from Richmond Hill and one each from Georgina and Newmarket.
The council meets at the York Region Administrative Centre offices in Newmarket. The chair of the council is elected by the members of the regional council at its first meeting after municipal elections. The first session sat at the auditorium of Bayview Secondary School
and move to another home before settling to the current location in 1993.
