As well as these board members, the World Cube Association also assigns delegates who can organise an official competition. The presence of a delegate is required in order to make the competition official. As of early October, 2011, over 15000 people around the world have attended WCA events. The fastest solve of a 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube at a WCA event is 5.66 seconds, set by Feliks Zemdegs

Not all of these events are offered at every competition, but often they all are at national or global competitions.
