, after looping through the roads of Bangalore. A number of other events occur alongside the elite race, including: a Nations Challenge event, an open 10 km race, a shorter 5.7 km race (the Majja Run), a 4-kilometre wheelchair race, and a senior citizens race.

The event is organised by Procam International, an athletics firm which is also responsible for the Mumbai Marathon

Further significant prizes are offered to the best Indian competitors and teams. The event does not have official sanctioning by the Athletics Federation of India, which has led to the official body discouraging athletes from participating despite the level of prize money available.
