William Morton Fullerton

William Morton Fullerton (18 September 1865 – 26 August 1952) was an American print journalist. He studied at Harvard, the class of 1886. While there, he and fellow classmates began Harvard Magazine. After his graduation and first trip to Europe in 1888, he grew to become the chief correspondent of the London Times
in Paris where he remained until 1911.
Between 1906-9 he was famously involved in an affair with American Pulitzer Prize
–winning author Edith Wharton
. They met in the summer of that year after being introduced by mutual friend Henry James
. After the affair ended, he kept all of her letters, which were eventually published as a book, The letters of Edith Wharton, in 1988. She undoubtedly considered him the love of her life, describing him as her "ideal intellectual partner".
