Wiliam Midleton

Wiliam Midleton was a Welsh language
poet.
He was born into a prosperous family that had been the patrons of poets. He learnt the craft of Welsh bardic poets and around 1594 he wrote Bardhoniaeth, neu brydydhiaeth which he intended to act as an aid to others who wished to practise the craft.
In 1595 Midleton composed a metrical Welsh translation of the Psalms entitled Rhann o psalmae Davyd, a phropwyti eraill. A completed version entitled Psalmae y brenhinol brophwyd Dafydh was published posthumously in 1603.
