The school took on its present name at its present site in the 1960s, previously it had been a boarding school for boys called Gadebridge Park School in nearby Hemel Hempstead

Located just off the A 41, between Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire, there is easy access to all major routes. During the 1950s, while the estate was in private ownership, the 650 yard drive was used for speed hill climbing.
