West Point merged with Pepperell in 1965, and purchased J.P. Stevens in 1988. It was taken private in 2000, and eventually went bankrupt. Icahn Enterprises took a majority holding in the company in 2005.

Their brands now number many diverse lines of textiles including: Martex, Stevens, Lady Pepperell and others. They also manufacture under license Ralph Lauren Home and Charisma lines.
