), inflatable tube rides, multi-passenger inflatable raft rides, and a water-themed fun house. The park has two wave pools: the older and tamer Captain Jack's Wave Pool, as well as the newer Thunder Bay wave pool, which as of the 2009 season, has longer continuous waves that start every six minutes. It formerly had one large wave every four minutes. This update was made due to the pump/engine system failing during the 2009 season, resulting in massive leaks of hydraulic fluid being dumped into the pool. The newer thunder bay also has the added advantage if being computer controlled, allowing for modulation of wave frequency, strength, and pattern.

Water Attractions

The park has several unique water attractions. One of the most notable is the "Screamin' Mimi," a ride where guests take board-type vehicles down a roller coaster like track, reaching speeds of 30 miles per hour (13.4 m/s) before landing in a pool and bouncing across the water. The "space bowl" sends riders down an enclosed body slide before entering an enclosed circular bowl and dropping out into a pool of water. One of the park's newest attractions is similar to the space bowl, the "Revolution," sends guests down a slide into an open bowl as well, however, the ride is much larger and accommodates four people on a tube instead of one on his or her body. Also notable is the popular pitch black inflatable raft slide, "Storm" which includes lighting and sound effects. The park's newest attraction is the "Turbo Racer," opened in 2007, a racing slide attraction which features eight side by side lanes and an open air finish.

Water World's most famous attraction is a unique raft water slide that takes place completely inside. It is called "Voyage to the Center of the Earth," in which riders ride in small circular multi-passenger inflatable rafts and travel through an artificial cavern. It is themed to a newly discovered cave that reportedly has creatures from the prehistoric era still inhabiting it. It includes steep downward spirals, sudden drop offs, and various dinosaurs, including am animatronic T. rex

encounter at the end of the ride. The ride is unusual for a water park attraction, in its extensive thematic emphasis, and in that it can take in excess of 5 minutes to complete, making it one of the longest rides at any water park. The ride was built by Sally Corporation during the early 1990's. Since then, the ride has had two cosmetic upgrades, the most recent being the 2010 Season. The Ride has a tube capacity of 75 rafts, enabling up to 75 parties to cycle through the system every 25-30 minutes

Water World has two massive Wave Pools. The first one is Capitain Jacks, which is located at the upper end of the park. It uses a repeating engine to create multiple waves on 10 minute cycles. The other is Thunder Bay, a massive pool which acts as the central hub of the water park. Thunder Bay sports a new engine which permits multiple wave types.
The newest area of the park is the Big Top, located immediately adjacent to Turbo Racer. Big Top is family oriented and features attractions for younger children. The park will add a hydromagentic water coaster for the 2012 season, making it the first slide of its kind in Colorado.
