The station was originally a repeater of New York City
's Univision station, WXTV
, until 2002, when Univision acquired WUVP channel 65, and moved the affiliation there. At that point, channel 28 picked up the affiliation of the then-new TeleFutura network, and was re-called "WFPA-CA".
In June 2006, the station was added to Philadelphia area Comcast
systems on Channel 251. The station is also carried on WUVP-TV
's Digital channel 66.2 (which is listed via simulation at 65-2). WFPA is also available to DirecTV customers as part of the Philadelphia local channel package.
