Vsevolozhsk got status of a town in 1963. There was an intention to make a resort in the town in the Soviet times. For what a ski jump was built (now unfunctioned), but later this idea was abandoned.
Now it is a growing suburb of Saint Petersburg
with many new houses building.

History
In 1892 through country house of Berngard, the place there is now Vsevolozhsk is situated, had passed first in Russia narrow-gauge line intended for transportation of peats for Petersburg's heating (Irinovskaya rail road). Now the name of Berngard is borne by one of the railroad stations in the town -- Berngardovka.Vsevolozhsk was the first settlement in Russia where street gas lamps were set.
