. He was married with Romelia Mujica Marcano, with her he had three children Jose Vinicio Adames, Juan Manuel Adames, and Andreina Adames.

Adames, was also in charge of the Central Bank of Venezuela Choral, recording in 1973, an album of Venezuelan folk music. During his lifetime created a great number of artistic ensembles at the Pedagogical Institute of Caracas, composed many choral pieces and made arrangements for Venezuelan folk music.

Vinicio Adames died on September 3, 1976, along with the members of the UCV University Choir, in an aircraft accident at Lajes airport, Azores Islands, during a travel to Barcelona, Spain, for the participation of the group at the "Festival Internacional del Canto Coral".
