The newspaper was initially published in Ukrainian as Vechirny Kharkiv was founded on January 1, 1969. It later change to a bi-lingual format with Ukrainian and Russian versions of the same newspaper being published simultaneously. In its current reincarnation it is published only in Russian and issued three times a week, is available by subscription and at retail in Kharkiv
