 was originally involved, they dropped out due to continued funding woes. Although part of the park is in California, it is not currently considered a California state park.

History

Henry Van Sickle built the farm in the 1860s to hold hay for a nearby way station. Later it serviced freight-pulling horse teams through the region. Eventually the facility became an equestrian stable for tourists. In 1989 the land was donated to the Nevada Division of State Parks and shortly after the State of California purchased the adjacent lands.

Park

575 acres (232.7 ha) of the park lie within Nevada while 150 acres (60.7 ha) are in California. The main entrance as well as most of the historical buildings are on the California side. The Heavenly Ski Resort

 gondola runs over the park grounds near the barn and stables. The park is also unique in the fact that it lies within minutes of the region's main urban, commercial and gaming areas; the park entrance just behind Harrah's Lake Tahoe
