 on July 1, 1999 as VH1 Classic. Also available in several European countries since the early 2000s. In December, 2004 a separate version for the rest of Europe known as VH1 Classic Europe launched. Both channels show music videos and concert footage mainly from the '60s through to the '90s, sometimes featuring music videos and concert footage from as early as at least the '40s, such as Bing Crosby's White Christmas from 1942. Occasionally VH1 Classic airs videos from the early 2000s. Unlike its UK sister channel, VH1 Classic Europe is entirely devoid of commercials, broadcasting non-stop music videos round the clock.

In the UK and Ireland, VH1 Classic was rebranded under the MTV name as MTV Classic
