The University of Northwestern Ohio is a private, not-for-profit University founded in 1920. Within the university are five colleges: College of Business, College of Applied Technologies, College of Health Professions, College of Occupational Professions, and the Graduate College. Online degrees are available for most areas of study. The University of Northwestern Ohio is a co-educational institution authorized by the Ohio Board of Regents and the Higher Learning Commission / North Central Association to grant master’s degrees, baccalaureate degrees and associate degrees.

UNOH offers over 60 programs in Business, Medical, Legal, Travel, HVAC, IT, Marketing, High Performance Motorsports, Agricultural, Alternate Fuels, Automotive, Diesel and more.

Mission

The University of Northwestern Ohio is an entrepreneurial, not-for-profit institution of higher learning, preparing students for careers and productive citizenship that encompass the business, professional, corporate and technological communities by providing quality education and training in response to the needs and aspirations of our constituents.

Academics

The College of Business of the University of Northwestern Ohio offers Baccalaureate Degrees and Associate Degrees. Some programs have major course sequences beginning fall quarter.

The College of Occupational Professions of the University of Northwestern Ohio offers Associate Degrees, Diplomas, and Certificate programs. Majors include: Agribusiness, Information Technology, Legal, Office Management, Specialized Studies, Sport Marketing and Management, Travel, and Word Processing. Some programs have major course sequences beginning fall quarter.

The College of Health Professions of the University of Northwestern Ohio offers Baccalaureate Degrees, Associate Degrees, and Diplomas. Majors include: Health Care Administration, Medical Assistant Technology, and Medical Office Management. Some programs have major course sequences beginning summer and/or fall quarter.

The College of Applied Technologies offers Associate Degrees, Diplomas, and Certificate programs. These programs take from 36 weeks to 2 years to complete. Classes are Monday through Thursday in the morning, afternoon, evening, and early morning. Majors include: Autmotive Technology, Diesel Technology, High Performance Motorsports, Alternate Fuels Technology, Agricultural Equipment Technology, and HVAC/R Technology.

The Graduate College of the University of Northwestern Ohio offers the Master of Business Administration program online or in a one-night-per-week format.

Technology Advances

Since the launch of the new student portal, mySirius, in June 2006, the University of Northwestern Ohio information technology advancements continue at a rapid pace.

MyUNOH is the campus portal to online student services. The improved customer service for UNOH students has been a tremendous asset. Students now can register and pay for classes online, get their class schedules online, receive financial aid award letters online, and order books for classes online through Barnes and Noble at UNOH.

UNOH online degrees allow students to earn their degree from anywhere in the world. In 2011, UNOH also launched its 100% online MBA program, providing graduate students the option to earn their MBA without stepping foot on campus.

 to its online services. Atomic Learning offers online tutorials for common applications for Microsoft Office products, Digital Imaging like Photoshop, and basic HTML tutorials. Presidium is a 24 x 7 technical support service provided to support students who need assistance with online campus services. Proquest is an online research library allowing students to search through a vast selection of newspaper and magazine articles, as well as text from books. This powerful research tool is a great source for gathering information students need to finish projects and papers. SMARTTHINKING provides live, person-to-person, tutoring over the Internet for help with course work at any time of day or night. UNOH has also recently joined OhioLINK, a collaboration of libraries, which will give its students access to over 46 million resources across Ohio.
