 established in 2010, with an expected enrollment of around 2,150 students. It is Volusia County's first high school since 1994 . The high school's capacity exceeds any other school in the county. Its $98 million construction cost makes it the most expensive high school in Volusia County.

Academics

The new school opened on 16 August 2010. About 500 students at the new high school come from DeBary, about 500 from Orange City, another 250 from the unincorporated area around Orange City, and about 900 from Deltona. The school does not have a senior class for its 2010-2011 school year. The school has an elaborate AP program.

, and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in sponsoring two academies, the STEM Academy (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), and the Academy of Finance. Stetson has an advisory role in the program. For the 2011-2012 school year, University High School has 2,600 students enrolled.

S.T.E.M. Academy

The acronym S.T.E.M. stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Mr.Jeremy Blinn is the head director for the academy. There are four pathways to the S.T.E.M. Academy- Biomedical, Engineering, Agribiotechnology, and Gaming Simulation/Robotics.

Marching Band

The "Titan Regiment" marching band currently has around 100 members. In the 2010- 2011 school year, they performed a show entitled “The Music of Emerson, Lake, and Palmer.” As of the 2011-2012 year, they are performing the music of George Gershwin

Athletics

University High School currently has a cheer-leading, Golf, football, marching band, volleyball, wrestling, basketball, cross country, and baseball team, with more teams to be added as the school year progresses. University High School's team name is The Titans.
The Titans won their first game against Piers on Taylor 20-0. The school has formed a rivalry with nearby Deland High School and Deltona High School , although it has not yet competed on the field. The roots of the rivalry are based in the fact that the school was formed as a relief school for the overpopulated Deltona and Deland High. Nearby Deltona High School's football field is used by University High School Junior Varsity and Varsity teams for home games, since University does not yet have its own field.

University High School also has a gaming team for the new Call of Duty video game, the team goes by the name of 127 and consists of 4 members. Their overall record is 95-11.
