Turvey Abbey is an abbey
located in the village of Turvey in the English
county of Bedfordshire
. It is dated 1605 on the north facade and 1608 on the south facade.
The name probably comes from the lands held by the Abbey of St. James at Northampton. The main staircase is original. The building is stone, with a tile roof.
A dovecote is a Grade II listed building.
Historically, Turvey Abbey was a country house and family home.
John Higgins developed a Jacobean style house. His son, Charles Longuet Higgins (1806–1885), was responsible for the rebuilding of Turvey village.
It now has a use that matches its name, as it belongs to the 'Priory of Our Lady of Peace' a Benedictine
