. It is located in the extreme northern part of Pema Gatshel Dzongkhag. In the past Tshatshe was the capital of the Tshetshe Khochi (equivalent to Duke in the west). The nine storied castle of Tshatshe Khochi was destroyed by the Tibetan invasion in the early days during the reign of Desis' (1951-1907). After the invasion the palace was built in Tshatshe Khomotshe and its ruins are still apparent today. The clan 'Tshatshe Khochi' was the descendants of Prince Tshangma( Lhasey Tshangma, grandson of King Thrisong Detsen). The main trade route of ancient times goes through the village which connected Tibet and India in the past. Today also in some area we can see this paths as big as some moter roads in Bhutan.
