. It is directly connected with UMKC school of medicine and provides training base for its six-year medical program. Students from UMKC school of medicine rotate a total of six months in TMC for their internal medicine rotation, and begins their responsibility in out-patient clinics starting the third year of their training, which is continued to graduation under the supervision of an attending physician. TMC consists of 194 beds, equipped with diverse fields of services (ER, internal medicine, general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, ENT, ophthomology, cardiology, infectious disease, radiology, GI, behavioral health/psychiatry, dermatology, pulmonary clinic, primary care clinics, physical therapy, occupational health, obstetrics/gynecology), as well as a 24/7 translator service. It is located right across from Children's Mercy Hospital and is connected via a skybridge, having access for pediatric/adult transfers when necessary.
