Tourism Minister of Israel

The Tourism Minister of Israel is the political head of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism and a relatively minor position in the Israeli cabinet
. The position is currently held by Stas Misezhnikov
of Yisrael Beiteinu.
The position was created in 1964, with Akiva Govrin
being the first person to hold the job, but was appended to the Trade and Industry
portfolio between 1977 and 1981. Ehud Barak
is the only Prime Minister
to have held the position whilst serving as head of government, whilst Moshe Katsav
, who was Minister of Tourism from 1996 to 1999, went on to become President
.
On one occasion there was a Deputy Minister of Tourism.
