Creation

Flynn collaborated with famous South African playwright, Paul "Slab" Slabolepsky. Both of the films featuring Tjokkie are adapted and starring Slabolepsky. Slabolepsky was working on a production his theatre, The Space Traveler. He decided to write a play about two likable "dimwits" that get into a troublesome situation. He created those two characters, Crispin "Darryl" Wentzel and Tjokkie "Tjokks" Herington, as examples of the lower white classes.

Character Traits and Fictional Biography

Tjokkie lives in the real Transki "dorp", Palaborwa. He is a bachelor and lives with his loving mother. He is a very kind and considerate person, with the exception of being angered by Crispin or a foe. He is an avid rugby
