Creation
Flynn collaborated with famous South African playwright, Paul "Slab" Slabolepsky. Both of the films featuring Tjokkie are adapted and starring Slabolepsky. Slabolepsky was working on a production his theatre, The Space Traveler. He decided to write a play about two likable "dimwits" that get into a troublesome situation. He created those two characters, Crispin "Darryl" Wentzel and Tjokkie "Tjokks" Herington, as examples of the lower white classes.Character Traits and Fictional Biography
