Tim Maloney is an American
filmmaker and animator
who has made films for the band Negativland

While at Disney TVA, he was the director of the popular segment Mrs. Munger's Class
which was featured on ABC
's One Saturday Morning program.
In 2000, while he was working at Disney TV Animation
, he used their equipment to make a video for Gimme the Mermaid, a track from Negativland's CD and Book project, Fair Use: The Story of the Letter U and the Numeral 2
. This was especially ironic, as it was the same building in which the Little Mermaid
TV show had been made.
Later in the same year, he was the coordinator of the Droplift Project
, which involved a compilation CD made with unlicensed samples of copyrighted sources by various artists. These were taken by Droplift operatives to chain music stores and left in the bins, inserted alphabetically under "D."
He is also the creator of Cat-Head Theatre, which is included in the DVD compilation of animated short films, God Hates Cartoons
. He is a producer for the company that released that DVD, Bright Red Rocket. He also produced, edited and composed music for The Naked Cosmos, a 4-part TV show directed and starring Gilbert Hernandez
, co-creator of "Love and Rockets

In it, Maloney aims to share his low budget, lone wolf secrets to getting high quality animation out of everyday equipment and software. This book, published by Watson-Guptill, contains a DVD with tutorials and other information to support the material in the book.
In 2004, he provided cartoons and illustrations for "Beat the Heat: How to Handle Encounters with Law Enforcement."
