The airport has undergone a significant expansion and upgrade including the resurfacing of the main asphalt runway (08/26) and also lengthening it to 5502 ft (1,677 m). A new terminal building is also under construction and will be located just south of the existing ATB which will be demolished. A feasibility study to establish an on-site airport business park is underway in November 2009.

The airport also has one flight school and charter flights are available from Bravo-Zulu Aviation which has two aircraft available for intra-Canada or transborder destinations.
