Broich was instrumental, in his debut season, to the success of the Roar, and won the Gary Wilkins Medal which was awarded to the Brisbane Roar's player of the year for his efforts in the clubs' first ever Championship success. Broich was also runner up to Marcos Flores
for the Johnny Warren Medal which is awarded to the A-League's player of the year.
