History

Theresienfeld was founded in 1763 by Empress Maria Theresa, for the agricultural development of the area.

Economy and education

In 2001, there were 100 non-agricultural companies, and 21 agriculturally and forestry related companies. 1,189 persons were employed. The activity rate was 49.03%.

Theresienfeld has two kindergartens, a primary school, and a vocational school.
