"Life on the Scilly Isles in 1907 is bleak and full of hardship. Laura's twin brother, Billy, disappears, and then a storm devastates everything. It seems there's little hope... that is until the Zanzibar is wrecked on the island's rocks and everything changes. " There are storms and Laura and her family thought about going somewhere else but they can not go somewhere because of the storms. After a few weeks later, Laura finds a turtle that is dead. When Laura goes to that beach again, she finds another turtle- she thinks it was real when it was fake and she brings it back to her house.
