 died in 1953. His son edited his diaries and published the book in 1973 with the title Chinese Special Zone: 1942- 1945. Its English version was published by Doubleday Co. in 1975, titled as The Vladimirov Diaries (ISBN 0-385-00928-3). The diary has been criticized as having been edited for Soviet propaganda purposes.
