Before landing on 62TV records (home of Girls in Hawaii, Malibu Stacy, Austinlace, Dez Mona etc. http://www.62tvrecords.com) The Tellers remained a bedroom secret.
Ben Baillieux-Beynon started the band in 2005, just him and Nic Van Assche who was very quickly replaced by Charles Blistin. Their story was the simple one of 2 big kids not really interested in spending days in school or college who instead spent their time playing their guitars and writing songs, songs that fall somewhere between the sounds of the Libertines

After losing a demo contest on Belgian alternative national radio Pure FM and receiving a truly enthusiastic response, they became more sure of themselves and decided to show what they were about. In 2006 they recorded what was supposed to be a 10 song-demo, well their label was so happy with the result that they decided to release a mini-album featuring 7 songs from this session, the More EP was out in the summer of 2006. Belgian radios began to spin their songs and the band began to play intensively live, first with Ted Clark on bass and Andrew Bolton on drums both from another band called the big hat band (http://www.myspace.com/thebighatband) and after a couple of months Fabrice Detry took over the bass and Gary Di Vito the drums. Then Canon chose their song 'Second Category' for a europe-wide TV commercial campaign and the band was swiftly exposed to a new audience who welcomed them with open arms. 62 TV records then teamed up with Cooperative for a european release of this mini-album that got rave reviews and radio airplay all over Europe. It was time for a real full length album so the Tellers jumped into a Brussels studio with labelmate Fabrice Detry (http://www.myspace.com/austinlace) to record 'Hands Full of Ink' that was released at the end of 2007 and followed by an intensive european tour, the Tellers became then a real 4-piece with Kenley Dratwa on drums and Francis Gustin (http://www.myspace.com/HALLOKOSMO) on bass. In the meantime, their record was also licensed to the Rallye Label in Japan (http://www.rallye-label.com). The Tellers spent nearly 2 years on the road and maybe it was a little too much too soon, back home in Belgium the band split up, Ben and Charles couldn't stand Kenley and Francis anymore (and vice versa...). A couple of months later Charles told Ben that he didn't want to tour anymore so both Ben and Charles decided to split on good terms. Ben became the leader of a one-man-band... Time to think a little. Ben called Fabrice Detry, labelmate, leader of Brussels Austinlace and first of all producer of the Tellers' 2 records, Fabrice answered yes of course, The Tellers had a new bass player, after this good news Ben found Cesar, a young cool drummer coming from Namur, later in april 2010, Joos Houwen joined the band as a guitarist. This brand new fourpiece will be recording its new album at the Swimming House Studio in Brussels, this new album will be produced by Gordon Raphael responsible for the 2 first albums of the Strokes.
Also their debut album will be released in the US of A in spring 2010 by http://www.2minutes59.com.
The Tellers will be presenting their new songs exclusively on may 11th at Brussels Botanique indoor festival 'les Nuits' (http://www.botanique.be), this night will celebrate 62 TV Records' 15th anniversary.

Although the band only emerged recently, (having released two albums), the group has achieved fame in Belgium, where their album Hands full of ink reached 7th in the charts. They have also had success in Germany
