START Bus was originally founded in 1987 to provide transportation for skiers between downtown Jackson and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort

 in nearby Teton Village. Today, in addition to transporting skiers to the ski resort, it also serves locals, including school age kids, who enjoy this convenient transportation option while leaving their car at home.

Bus service

While transportation within Jackson city limits is free, the fare depends on the route and distance. For example, the one way fare between Jackson and Teton Village is $3 and the one way fare between Jackson and Star Valley is $8. The eastern terminus for all lines are Snow King Resort, while out of town lines make some stops along the stops that Town Shuttle make.
  • Town Shuttle - service within city limits only. Stops include, but not limited to, Snow King Resort, Mike Yokel Park, Town Square, Albertson's, and Blair Apartments
  • Jackson to Teton Village - service between Jackson and the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village
