Though the LDS Membership in Utah has increased, the percentage of Utahns who are Latter-day Saints has declined. Much of this is due to the rapid growth of the state. In 2008, the US Census Bureau determined Utah to be the fastest growing state in the country in terms of population growth.| Year | Membership |

Missions
Due to nonmembers coming into the state, Utah Officially became a mission field with its own headquarters in 1975 when the Utah Salt Lake City Mission was organized. Previously, full-time missionaries worked in parts of Utah under the leadership of missions headquartered in other states.Utah currently has 6 missions and a Missionary Training Center
