It is situated on Delhi Saharanpur highway around 120 km from Delhi.

During 1857 Indian Liberation War, in Thana Bhawan there were the leaders from different communities . In May 1857. but they were fighting for their own mother country in the consequences the famous Battle of Shamli took place between the forces of Haji Imdadullah and the British.

Now this town is on the spree of the progress as we have a sugar mill and different type of institutions nearby to it.Mr.Intezar Aziz is the current chairman here.
This town is also surrouded by some really good villages as Manti Hasanpur, Mullapur,Rashidgarh,khanpur,Harad Fatehpur,Naujal,yarpur,Kheda Gadai to name a few.

There are different type of temples and mosques also as Shiv Mandir Kachorri Nath, Ashram Panchtirthi (Swami Amardev Ji), Dayal Ashram (Gaddi Baba Bhanshah Ji) and Jassu Wala and Peer Shahvillayat and the temple of Jagannath also.Mohd Azam

  • There are four Inter colleges in the town of Thana Bahawan named as Kisan Inter college, Lala Lajpat Rai inter college and Lala Lajpat Rai Kanya inter college,Arpan Senior Secondary School,Alpine International School .
  • There is a degree college in thana bhavan with the name as Chaudhary Atar Singh Degree College.It is about 5 years old and is famous for its strict discipline.It is affiliated to c.c.s university, Meerut.It offers art courses and is the only degree college of the town.It was opened with the objective to provide higher education to the town people so that they can study at their town and not to travel to nearby city for graduation.It is developing at a very high rate.
