 was term limited, Blair was one of two who sought to replace him. In the 2008 primary, Blair faced Dayton resident Tom Young, and went on to defeat him by 1,400 votes. He went on to easily win the general election, and reelection in 2010. Currently he serves on the committees of Commerce and Labor, Financial Institutions, Housing, and Urban Development, Local Government (as Chairman), and Ways and Means.

Positions and Policies

As Chairman of the Local Government Committee, has been adement on ways that on how the legislature could help local entities ease the pain of what promises to be severe cuts to a variety of revenue streams.

Blair has proposed a tax rebate system that allows small businesses to receive a 5 percent sales-tax discount. "I think that would be a boon for smaller businesses," Blair said. "Like anything else, there is going to be a cost associated with this, but I think it will be a benefit for the economy because small business will start to feel a little more secure in what they're doing."
