. Despite its poor-looking production, it was heavily played on MTV
's Dial MTV phone video-request show for several months, until a new ruling stated that the requested videos had to be only a few weeks old to qualify.
The song was also featured on Kiss' 1988 compilation, Smashes, Thrashes & Hits
.
The song was performed live on all of the non-makeup tours by the band after its release, but, like almost all of the other songs from that period of their career, was shelved when the band returned to wearing makeup in 1996. The song was brought back however for a few performances during their 2004 Rock the Nation Tour
, making it one of the select few non-makeup era songs that have been played by the band in any capacity while wearing makeup.
"Tears Are Falling" was one of the few songs since the 1970s to have been solely written by Paul Stanley, and was his last until "Loving You Without You Now" on his 2006 solo album Live to Win
