Tchamba is originally a tribe in the present day Ghana.They were known as the Aborigines ( indigenous) of Northern Ghana, covering Tamale, Bim Billa, Tikokonba (known as Konkonba) Nanumba and others. Due to major tribal wars , they had to flee to present day Tchamba in Northern Togo, even though Tchambas were also already there.It is widely spoken in Togo, Ghana, Benin, and Nigeria.They are predominantly Moslems.They have linguistcal affiliations with Konkonba, Bassari.
