The Malatarlak Festival, celebrated every January, is the most common festival in the city. In 2011, Mayor Ace Manalang changed the name of the festival to Balik Sigla Tarlac Festival.


McArthur Highway goes through the southern to North end of the city, there are a series of roads leading to Zambales and Pangasinan as well as Baguio City.

Majority of Tarlac City residents are Roman Catholics. Iglesia ni Cristo, on the other hand, have 33 Local Congregations situated in Tarlac City alone including the recently dedicated chapel in the Local Congregation of Molave, Tarlac City.
