Tad Richards Callister has been a general authority
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) since 2008. Since August 2011 he has been a member of the Presidency of the Seventy of the LDS Church.
Callister was born in Glendale, California
to Norine Richards and Reed Callister, who had joined the LDS Church while stationed with the US military in Hawaii. His mother Norine was a daughter of LeGrand Richards
, who was the Presiding Bishop
of the LDS Church when Callister was born and would later serve for many years as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
During the mid-1960s, Callister served as a missionary
