TV AlHijrah is a state-owned free-to-air television network in Malaysia, which is owned and operated by Al Hijrah Media Corporation, a government owned company. It broadcasts from its headquarters in Pusat Islam, Kuala Lumpur. First commenced broadcasting on 7 December 2010 (launching date), TV AlHijrah is known as the first free-to-air TV station in Malaysia formatted as Islamic TV channel like Islam TV (UK), RTB5 (Brunei), MQTV (Indonesia), Iqra TV (Saudi Arabia). Currently, TV AlHijrah broadcasts from 12 PM on Mondays to Thursdays, and 7 AM on Fridays to Sundays, while transmission ends at 12 AM everyday.

TV AlHijrah currently broadcasts via UHF (Ultra High Frequency

), which located on various UHF channel across Malaysia. TV AlHijrah is also available on Astro satellite TV channel 114 (SD format).

, most of Muslims were not having access to the channel due to Astro Oasis are pay TV and not free-to-air. Therefore, the free-to-air Islamic TV channel has been suggested by Tun Abdullah

become Prime Minister and Jamil Khir Baharom appointed as Minister in Prime Minister Department (Islamic Affairs). TV AlHijrah were operated by Al Hijrah Media Corporation, Malaysia government owned company under Department of Islamic Affairs of Malaysia (JAKIM) under Jamil Khir control.

Broadcast Area

For the time being, TV AlHijrah only can be watch in certain area of Malaysia. The broadcast area as state below:
  • Klang Valley, Selangor and part of Perak, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang (UHF 55)(743.25MHz)
  • Kuala Terengganu (UHF 41)(631.25MHz)
  • Kuantan (UHF 22) (479.25MHz)
  • Mersing and part of Pekan Pahang, Kota Tinggi and Segamat (UHF 40)(623.25)
  • Kuching (UHF 37)(599.25MHz)
  • Kota Kinabalu (UHF 37)(599.25MHz)


TV AlHijrah still in process to install another transmission to other areas such as Gunung Jerai (Penang, Alor Setar and Kangar), Kota Bharu, Ipoh, Taiping, Gunung Ledang (Melaka, Muar, Tampin, Batu Pahat, Kluang and Segamat), Menara KL (Kuala Lumpur) and Johor Bahru.

Since 1 June 2011, TV AlHijrah can be watch via Astro satellite TV channel 114. TM High Speed Broadband service, Unifi also plan to air TV AlHijrah via IPTV medium under Hypp TV.
