Climate is temperate when compared to other places in Kadapa district. Maximum temperature ranges from 18-27 °C during winter and 30-40 °C during summer. Sundupalli has very fertile lands. Most of the farming is dependent on monsoon rains and some under the river water flowing from Piler to Pincha dam and river Bahuda.
It is one of the good sightseeing places as it is on the bank of river "Bahuda". "Bahu" means hands and "dha" means donates in Sanskrit. Thus, Bahuda means the river that donates the hands. It originates at Kanipakam in Chittor district, a well known historic place and passes through this village. Annamachary project has built on that river near to Rajampeta.
It takes about 45 minutes to reach Rayachoti from Sundupalli, two hours to reach Rajampet, four hours to reach Tirupati, three hours to reach Kadapa, where most of the roads are better. It has a post office, a police station, a government hospital, a veterinary hospital, a government college, and a government school. Sundupalli also has an State Bank of India

Many people also seek employment opportunities in Arabian countries, mostly in Kuwait

Sundupalli is among one of main mandals in Kadapa district. It is believed that APSRTC Rayachoti depot makes about 15% of its annual revenue from buses traveling in between Rayachoti and Sundupalli route, regardless of the season.
