Club Formed
The Sunbury United Soccer Club was formed in 1972 and played its first games in 1973. The founding members were, amongst others, Bert Kelly, Ron Buckland and Les Smedley. Bert Kelly is still associated with the club and can be heard every Saturday morning at 10:00am on Sunbury's local radio station 3NRG.Changing Rooms and Stadium Lights
During the Seventies and Eighties the club raised funds to build the changing rooms facilities at Langama Park, this was followed by the erecting of floodlights to enable evening matches.Junior Team Tour
In 1992 the Committee raised enough money to send an Under 16 Team on an international tour of New Zealand where they played six games in 10days. The 16 players representing SUNBURY UNITED were not disgraced winning 2 and drawing 2 of the 6 games. Two of the games were against the best representative players of the CIty of Auckland.Victories
