It is one of three high schools in the Stratford area, and of two Middle schools.
This school has a floor for the grade 7 and 8s and a separate floor for the grade 9 - 12 students.
It was opened in 1968. Many residents of Stratford went to the school when they were younger.
Northwestern has a variety of unique courses, such as cosmetology, horticulture, and culinary.
The culinary class operates an in-school restaurant called The Screaming Avocado, where gourmet foods are prepared by students and served as healthy, balanced meals to the students. One of the most popular items on their menu is their delicious pizza.
Over 1200 students go to school at Northwestern, about 200 of which are grade 7 and 8s.
There are many interesting programs at Northwestern, such as Me To We, the Northern Voice (newspaper), and Glee club.
Glee Club puts on occasional musicals and is very popular among the students.
